Manga Translator Studio Guide

A single practical guide for installation, first translation, LM Studio, OCR, Smart Context, profiles and troubleshooting.

1. Installation

Install Manga Translator Studio, then install LM Studio if you want to use local AI models. Keep the program and model files on an SSD when possible.

2. First translation

Choose the manga folder, select the output folder, choose a target language and press Start Translation. The free trial lets you test the full workflow.

3. LM Studio

Load a compatible local model in LM Studio and keep the local server running. The default API URL is usually http://127.0.0.1:1234/v1.

4. OCR

OCR reads text inside balloons. EasyOCR is useful for English scans; MangaOCR is better for Japanese source text.

5. Smart Context

Smart Context helps the model keep terminology, tone and character names consistent across nearby pages. It is useful for fantasy, action and long chapters.

6. Manga profiles

Profiles save prompts, terminology and rendering settings for a specific manga, such as Witch Hat Atelier, Frieren or Solo Leveling.

7. Batch translation

Batch mode translates an entire folder automatically. Use clear file names such as 01.jpg, 02.jpg, 03.jpg for predictable ordering.

8. Troubleshooting

If translation is slow, check whether the delay is OCR, AI generation or rendering. Using smaller images and a faster quantized model can improve speed.
